Covid-19 Safety Protocols
Our Commitment to Your Safety
While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We have always closely followed the activities of these agencies and will continue to do so. Below you will find more information about safety and health procedures we’ve always followed, as well as additional changes and protocols you will see at your next dental appointment.
In addition to heat sterilization of all instruments and disinfection of all surfaces, which we have been doing for 35 years, we have made additional changes to help protect our patients and staff moving forward:
•We will communicate with you before any scheduled appointment to ask a few screening questions.
•You’ll also be screened once you arrive for your appointment – you will be asked the same questions, vaccination status and have your temperature taken.
•Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This might mean you are offered fewer scheduling options, as we are allowing greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you and the number of patients in the reception area.
•No visitors may accompany patients to in-office visits, unless you are accompanying a child.
•Per our building’s requirements, you must be wearing a mask upon entry. All team members will be wearing masks when you are in our office.
•You will find hand sanitizer in the reception area and other areas in our office for you to use as needed.
•You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines or newspapers, as these items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
•We have installed hospital grade HEPA and IV air filtration systems throughout our office. Each six-stage air filtration system is used to clean and kill virus and airborne pathogens in the air.
•We will be donning medical respirator masks and gowns during your treatment for protection and care.
•We have installed plexiglass shields at our front desk to adhere to social distancing while checking out.
•Payment options have been improved to allow for contact free payment at the time of your appointment or a pre-pay option over the phone before your appointment.
Safety and Equipment Upgrades
It is important to note that your safety and the safety of our staff has always been our top priority. It was without hesitation that we decided to go above and beyond the minimum Covid-19 requirements for dentists by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and purchase additional equipment to create the safest dental experience possible.
