Many patients experience chronic muscle tension, headaches, or jaw pain—and don’t realize how much their bite can contribute to those symptoms. They’re told they “have TMJ”. Nightguards are often recommended, and they’re useful for protecting teeth, but they don’t always address the cause of the problem. For many people, the discomfort continues.
Advancing techniques in dentistry allow us to evaluate how your teeth come together when you’re at rest and when you’re chewing. We use a specialized appliance called the Kois Deprogrammer. Worn for a few weeks, it relaxes your jaw muscles, often alleviating discomfort, and reveals how your bite naturally wants to fit together.
By studying both your current bite and your deprogrammed bite, we can design a personalized plan to improve comfort: adjusting bite position, contact, or alignment so your jaw and muscles can function without strain.
We believe teeth look their best when they function well. And we believe you deserve to be tension-free and pain-free, so you can enjoy the food you love, the nights out you look forward to, and the everyday peace of mind that comes from a comfortable, healthy bite.
