Botox for TMD & Masseter Muscle Tightness

We offer therapeutic Botox injections exclusively for the treatment of Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD/TMJ) and masseter muscle tightness. We do not provide esthetic or cosmetic Botox treatments.

What Is Therapeutic Botox for TMD?

Therapeutic Botox is used to relax overactive jaw muscles—particularly the masseter muscles—that contribute to jaw pain, clenching, grinding (bruxism), headaches, and facial tension. By reducing excessive muscle activity, Botox can help relieve pain and improve jaw function.

Conditions We Treat

Botox may be recommended for patients experiencing:

  • Jaw pain or tightness
  • Teeth clenching or grinding
  • Tension headaches related to jaw muscle overuse
  • Facial pain caused by overactive masseter muscles
  • Limited jaw movement associated with muscle tension

How Treatment Works: small, precise amounts of Botox are injected into the masseter muscles to reduce muscle hyperactivity while preserving normal jaw function. Treatment is quick and typically well tolerated, with minimal downtime.
